What rights do you have regarding your data?

The operators of this website take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data as confidential and in accordance with Swiss data protection law (DSG), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and this privacy policy.

To access members-only content, you log in via UniClubs (operated by Evanescor GmbH), which serves as our identity and membership management platform. By logging in, the following data is transmitted from UniClubs to our website:

• Name and email address
• Profile picture
• Academic information (graduation year, major)
• Club membership status, tier, and role

This data is used to authenticate you, determine your access level (member or admin), and display relevant content. Your data is stored in an encrypted session cookie and is not persisted in a separate database on our side.

By using UniClubs to log in, you have already accepted UniClubs' own terms of service and privacy policy. We act as the data controller for the data we receive and process on this website; UniClubs acts as a data processor for the authentication and membership data it provides to us. You can review UniClubs' privacy policy at uniclubs.ch/privacy.

This website uses only strictly necessary cookies. We do not use any analytics, marketing, or tracking cookies.

When you log in, a session cookie (authjs.session-token) is stored in your browser. This cookie is required to maintain your authenticated session and access members-only content. It is encrypted and contains no personally identifiable information in readable form. The cookie is deleted when your session expires or when you log out.

You can configure your browser to reject cookies, though this will prevent you from accessing members-only areas of the website.

The website provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically transmits to us in “server log files.” These are:

• Browser type and browser version
• Operating system used
• Referrer URL
• Hostname of the accessing computer
• Time of the server request
• IP address

These data will not be combined with data from other sources. The website operator has a legitimate interest to ensure an optimized service provided free of technical errors. Therefore server log files have to be stored.

The typefaces used on this website (Playfair Display and DM Sans) are hosted by us and delivered from our own server. They are downloaded once when the website is built, not when you open a page. Your browser therefore does not connect to Google's font servers, and no data is transmitted to Google for the display of fonts.

Some pages feature videos hosted on YouTube, a service operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

When such a page is displayed, your browser may load the preview image of a video directly from YouTube's servers. YouTube thereby learns your IP address, technical details of your browser, and which of our pages you opened; any YouTube cookies already stored in your browser are sent with that request. The video player itself is not loaded at this point.

The player is embedded only once you press play. From that moment YouTube may store cookies on your device and process your usage data, and if you are signed in to a YouTube account, your visit can be assigned to that account. Signing out of YouTube before pressing play prevents this.

Videos are embedded in order to present our events and activities, which constitutes a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where the embedded player requires consent, that consent is given by pressing play, pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
